When a transaction abort occured.
If we are aborting a transaction and trigger this code path, then
the item may be dirty. If the item is dirty, then it may be in the
AIL. Hence if we are aborting, we need to check if the item is in
the AIL and remove it before freeing it.

We have quite a few places now where we do:

and do a similar dance when freeing the memory. kmem_free() already
does the correct freeing dance, and kmem_zalloc_large() is only ever
called in these constructs, so just factor it all into
kmem_zalloc_large() and kmem_free().

Ever since increasing the number of supported ACLs from 25 to as
many as can fit in an xattr, there have been reports of order 4
memory allocations failing in the ACL code. Fix it in the same way
we've fixed all the xattr read/write code that has the same problem.

When splitting the root of the da btree, we shuffled data between
buffers and the structures that track them. At one point, we copy
data and state from one buffer to another, including the ops
associated with the buffer. When we do this, we also need to copy
the buffer type associated with the buf log item so that the buffer
is logged correctly. If we don't do that, log recovery won't
recognise it and hence it won't recalculate the CRC on the buffer
after recovery. This leads to a directory block that can't be read
after recovery has run.
Found by inspection after finding the same problem with remote
symlink buffers.

The logging of a remote symlink block does not set the buffer type
being logged, and hence on recovery the type of buffer is not
recognised and hence CRCs are not calculated after replay. This
results in log recoery throwing:
XFS (vdc): Unknown buffer type 0
errors, and subsequent reads of the symlink failing CRC
verification. Found via fsstress + godown.

This is the recovery side of the btree block owner change operation
performed by swapext on CRC enabled filesystems. We detect that an
owner change is needed by the flag that has been placed on the inode
log format flag field. Because the inode recovery is being replayed
after the buffers that make up the BMBT in the given checkpoint, we
can walk all the buffers and directly modify them when we see the
flag set on an inode.
Because the inode can be relogged and hence present in multiple
chekpoints with the "change owner" flag set, we could do multiple
passes across the inode to do this change. While this isn't optimal,
we can't directly ignore the flag as there may be multiple
independent swap extent operations being replayed on the same inode
in different checkpoints so we can't ignore them.
Further, because the owner change operation uses ordered buffers, we
might have buffers that are newer on disk than the current
checkpoint and so already have the owner changed in them. Hence we
cannot just peek at a buffer in the tree and check that it has the
correct owner and assume that the change was completed.
So, for the moment just brute force the owner change every time we
see an inode with the flag set. Note that we have to be careful here
because the owner of the buffers may point to either the old owner
or the new owner. Currently the verifier can't verify the owner
directly, so there is no failure case here right now. If we verify
the owner exactly in future, then we'll have to take this into
account.
This was tested in terms of normal operation via xfstests - all of
the fsr tests now pass without failure. however, we really need to
modify xfs/227 to stress v3 inodes correctly to ensure we fully
cover this case for v5 filesystems.
In terms of recovery testing, I used a hacked version of xfs_fsr
that held the temp inode open for a few seconds before exiting so
that the filesystem could be shut down with an open owner change
recovery flags set on at least the temp inode. fsr leaves the temp
inode unlinked and in btree format, so this was necessary for the
owner change to be reliably replayed.
logprint confirmed the tmp inode in the log had the correct flag set:

0x200 is set, indicating a data fork owner change needed to be
replayed on inode 0x44. A printk in the revoery code confirmed that
the inode change was recovered:

For CRC enabled filesystems, we can't just swap inode forks from one
inode to another when defragmenting a file - the blocks in the inode
fork bmap btree contain pointers back to the owner inode. Hence if
we are to swap the inode forks we have to atomically modify every
block in the btree during the transaction.
We are doing an entire fork swap here, so we could create a new
transaction item type that indicates we are changing the owner of a
certain structure from one value to another. If we combine this with
ordered buffer logging to modify all the buffers in the tree, then
we can change the buffers in the tree without needing log space for
the operation. However, this then requires log recovery to perform
the modification of the owner information of the objects/structures
in question.
This does introduce some interesting ordering details into recovery:
we have to make sure that the owner change replay occurs after the
change that moves the objects is made, not before. Hence we can't
use a separate log item for this as we have no guarantee of strict
ordering between multiple items in the log due to the relogging
action of asynchronous transaction commits. Hence there is no
"generic" method we can use for changing the ownership of arbitrary
metadata structures.
For inode forks, however, there is a simple method of communicating
that the fork contents need the owner rewritten - we can pass a
inode log format flag for the fork for the transaction that does a
fork swap. This flag will then follow the inode fork through
relogging actions so when the swap actually gets replayed the
ownership can be changed immediately by log recovery. So that gives
us a simple method of "whole fork" exchange between two inodes.
This is relatively simple to implement, so it makes sense to do this
as an initial implementation to support xfs_fsr on CRC enabled
filesytems in the same manner as we do on existing filesystems. This
commit introduces the swapext driven functionality, the recovery
functionality will be in a separate patch.

Calling xfs_dir3_leaf_hdr_from_disk() in a verifier before
validating the magic numbers in the buffer results in ASSERT
failures due to mismatching magic numbers when a corruption occurs.
Seeing as the verifier is supposed to catch the corruption and pass
it back to the caller, having the verifier assert fail on error
defeats the purpose of detecting the errors in the first place.
Check the magic numbers direct from the buffer before decoding the
header.

This patch bumps the default TCP listen backlog within iscsit_setup_np()
from 5 to 256, in order to reduce the overall latency caused by a small
backlog with 100's of simultaneous login attempts directed to the same
single network portal.
Also add a ISCSIT_TCP_BACKLOG macro in iscsi_target_core.h.

This patch bumps the default TA_DEFAULT_CMDSN_DEPTH from 16 -> 64,
which is closer to a sane default for larger pipes @ 10 Gb/sec
with traditional iSCSI, or @ 40/56 Gb/sec Ethernet/Infiniband with
iSCSI Extentions for RDMA.
There is really no downside to increasing this default value for
1 Gb/sec.

This patch removes an unnecessary wait_for_completion within
iscsi_get_thread_set(), that would wait for 1 second before
trying to obtain an inactive struct iscsi_thread_set from
iscsi_get_ts_from_inactive_list().
Since iscsi_allocate_thread_sets() will already be adding the
newly allocated iscsi_thread_set to the inactive list directly,
there is no need to wait here.

This patch removes the iscsi_thread_set->[rx,tx]_post_start_comp that
was originally used synchronize startup between rx and tx threads within
a single thread_set.
Instead, use a single ->ts_activate_sem in iscsi_activate_thread_set()
to wait for both processes to awake in the RX/TX pre handlers.
Also, go ahead and refactor thread_set deallocate code into a common
iscsi_deallocate_thread_one(), and update iscsi_deallocate_thread_sets()
and iscsi_deallocate_extra_thread_sets() use this code

ISCSI_THREAD_SET_DIE
This patch addresses an long standing race in iscsi_[rx,tx]_thread_pre_handler()
use of flush_signals(), and between iscsi_deallocate_extra_thread_sets() setting
ISCSI_THREAD_SET_DIE before calling kthread_stop().
It addresses the issue by both holding ts_state_lock before calling send_sig()
in iscsi_deallocate_extra_thread_sets(), as well as only calling flush_signals()
when ts->status != ISCSI_THREAD_SET_DIE within iscsi_[rx,tx]_thread_pre_handler()
code.

This model was introduced in 00f7ec36c "RDMA/core: Add memory
management extensions support" and works when the IB device
supports the IB_DEVICE_MEM_MGT_EXTENSIONS capability.
Upon creating the isert device, ib_isert will test whether the HCA
supports FRWR. If supported then set the flag and assign
function pointers that handle fast registration and deregistration
of appropriate resources (fast_reg descriptors).
When new connection coming in, ib_isert will check frwr flag and
create frwr resouces, if fail to do it will switch back to
old model of using global dma key and turn off the frwr support.
Registration is done using posting IB_WR_FAST_REG_MR to the QP and
invalidations using posting IB_WR_LOCAL_INV.

Current driver uses global dma key to register the memory pointed
by sg list provided by the target core.
This is the preparation step for adding more methods like fast

This patch adds support for EXTENDED_COPY emulation from SPC-3, that
enables full copy offload target support within both a single virtual
backend device, and across multiple virtual backend devices. It also
functions independent of target fabric, and supports copy offload
across multiple target fabric ports.
This implemenation supports both EXTENDED_COPY PUSH and PULL models
of operation, so the actual CDB may be received on either source or
desination logical unit.
For Target Descriptors, it currently supports the NAA IEEE Registered
Extended designator (type 0xe4), which allows the reference of target
ports to occur independent of fabric type using EVPD 0x83 WWNs.
For Segment Descriptors, it currently supports copy from block to
block (0x02) mode.
It also honors any present SCSI reservations of the destination target
port. Note that only Supports No List Identifier (SNLID=1) mode is
supported.
Also included is basic RECEIVE_COPY_RESULTS with service action type
OPERATING PARAMETERS (0x03) required for SNLID=1 operation.

Reversing the dma_data_direction for pci_map_sg() friends is useful

This patch adds a extra check for SCF_COMPARE_AND_WRITE within
transport_generic_request_failure() to invoke the callback for
compare_and_write_callback() or compare_and_write_done(), in
order to release se_dev->caw_mutex from the generic failure
path.
It also adds to checks within compare_and_write_callback() to
avoid processing when transport_generic_request_failure() occurs
early enough that cmd->t_data_sg or cmd->t_bidi_data_sg have not
been setup yet, nor se_dev->caw_mutex obtained from within
sbc_compare_and_write().

This patch changes target_complete_ok_work() to fall through
after calling the se_cmd->transport_complete_callback() ->
compare_and_write_post() callback, by keying off the existance
of SCF_COMPARE_AND_WRITE_POST.
This is necessary because once SCF_COMPARE_AND_WRITE_POST has
been set by compare_and_write_post(), the SCSI response needs
to be sent via TFO->queue_status().

This patch adds support for COMPARE_AND_WRITE emulation on a per block
basis. This logic is used as an atomic test and set primative currently
used by VMWare ESX VAAI for performing array side locking of individual
VMFS extent ownership.
This includes the COMPARE_AND_WRITE CDB parsing within sbc_parse_cdb(),
and does the majority of the work within the compare_and_write_callback()
to perform the verify instance user data comparision, and subsequent
write instance user data I/O submission upon a successfull comparision.
The synchronization is enforced by se_device->caw_sem, that is obtained
before the initial READ I/O submission in sbc_compare_and_write(). The
mutex is then released upon MISCOMPARE in compare_and_write_callback(),
or upon WRITE instance user-data completion in compare_and_write_post().
The implementation currently assumes a single logical block (NoLB=1).

This patch adds the MAXIMUM COMPARE AND WRITE LENGTH bit, currently
hardcoded to a single logical block (NoLB=1) within the Block Limits
VPD in spc_emulate_evpd_b0().
Also add emulate_caw device attribute in configfs (enabled by default)
to allow the exposure of this bit to be disabled, if necessary.

After COMPARE_AND_WRITE completes it's comparision, the WRITE
payload SGLs head expect to be updated to point from the verify
instance of user data, to the write instance of user data.
So for this special case, add transport_reset_sgl_orig() usage
within transport_free_pages() and add se_cmd->t_data_[sg,nents]_orig
members to save the original assignments.

This patch updates transport_generic_new_cmd() to call target_alloc_sgl()
for SGL + page memory allocation for se_cmd->t_bidi_data_sg.
It also adds the special case for SCF_COMPARE_AND_WRITE to calculate a
different bidi_length based upon se_cmd->t_task_nolb.

This patch refactors transport_generic_get_mem() to target_alloc_sgl()
for accepting **sgl, *nents, length and zero_page as function parameters

COMPARE_AND_WRITE expects to be able to send down a DMA_FROM_DEVICE
to obtain the necessary READ payload for comparision against the
first half of the WRITE payload containing the verify user data.
Currently virtual backends expect to internally reference SGLs,
SGL nents, and data_direction, so change IBLOCK, FILEIO and RD
sbc_ops->execute_rw() to accept this values as function parameters.
Also add default sbc_execute_rw() handler for the typical case for
cmd->execute_rw() submission using cmd->t_data_sg, cmd->t_data_nents,
and cmd->data_direction).

- Add SCF_COMPARE_AND_WRITE command flag
- Use sbc_execute_rw() for normal cmd->execute_rw() submission
with expected se_cmd members.

This patch adds a sense_reason_t return to ->transport_complete_callback(),
and updates target_complete_ok_work() to invoke the call if necessary to
transport_send_check_condition_and_sense() during the failure case.
Also update xdreadwrite_callback() to use this return value.
