The ov7630's gain is weird, at 32 the gain drops to the same level as at 16,
so skip 32-47 (of the 0-63 scale).

Since USB receives STATUS_RSSI updates through the interrupt endpoint,
there is no need to poll with USB, so get rid of the polling.
Note this also changes the order in which the probing of USB devices is done,
to avoid si470x_set_chan getting called before the interrupt endpoint is being
monitored.

Reading registers from the pcear USB dongles with the si470x causes a
loud pop (and an alsa buffer overrun). Since most radio apps periodically
call G_TUNER to update mono/stereo, signal and afc status this leads
to the music . pop . music . pop . music -> not good.
On the internet there is an howto for flashing the pcear with a newer
firmware from the silabs reference boardto fix this, but:
1) This howto relies on a special version of the driver which allows
firmware flashing
2) We should try to avoid the answer to a bug report being upgrade your
firmware, if at all possible
3) Windows does not suffer from the pop sounds
After a quick look at the driver I found at that the register reads are
not necessary at all, as the device gives us the necessary status through
usb interrupt packets, and the driver already uses these!

Some devices which use the tea575x tuner chip don't allow bit banging the
lines, instead they offer a method to directly set / get the contents of the
25 bit shift-register in the chip. Notably the Griffin radioSHARK USB radio
receiver does this.

Fixes an omission in the new v4l2_ioctls table: VIDIOC_TRY_EXT_CTRLS
must get the INFO_FL_CTRL flag, just like all the other control
related ioctls, otherwise the ioctl core won't know it also has
to check whether v4l2_fh->ctrl_handler is non-zero before it can
decide that this ioctl is not implemented.
Caught by v4l2-compliance while I was testing the mem2mem_testdev driver.

By default a sunrpc service is limited to (N+3)*20 connections
where N is the number of threads. This is 80 when N==1.
If this number is exceeded a warning is printed suggesting that
the number of threads be increased. However with services which
run a single thread, this is impossible.
For such services there is a ->sv_maxconn setting that can be
used to forcibly increase the limit, and silence the message.
This is used by lockd.
The nfs client uses a sunrpc service to handle callbacks and
it too is single-threaded, so to avoid the useless messages,
and to allow a reasonable number of concurrent connections,
we need to set ->sv_maxconn. 1024 seems like a good number.

Without this patch kernel will panic on LockD start, because lockd_up() checks
lockd_up_net() result for negative value.
From my pow it's better to return negative value from rpcbind routines instead
of replacing all such checks like in lockd_up().

This patch exports symbols needed by the v4 module. In addition, I also
switch over to using IS_ENABLED() to check if CONFIG_NFS_V4 or
CONFIG_NFS_V4_MODULE are set.
The module (nfs4.ko) will be created in the same directory as nfs.ko and
will be automatically loaded the first time you try to mount over NFS v4.

Somehow I missed this in my previous patch series, but these functions
are only needed by the v4 code and should be moved to a v4-only file. I
wasn't exactly sure where I should put these functions, so I moved them
into nfs4super.c where I could make them static.

I'm already looking up the nfs subversion in nfs_fs_mount(), so I have
easy access to rpc_ops that used to be difficult to reach. This allows
me to set up a different mount path for NFS v2/3 and NFS v4.

This patch adds in the code to track multiple versions of the NFS
protocol. I created default structures for v2, v3 and v4 so that each
version can continue to work while I convert them into kernel modules.
I also removed the const parameter from the rpc_version array so that I
can change it at runtime.

Fix a number of bugs in the NFS idmapper code:
(1) Only registered key types can be passed to the core keys code, so
register the legacy idmapper key type.
This is a requirement because the unregister function cleans up keys
belonging to that key type so that there aren't dangling pointers to the
module left behind - including the key->type pointer.
(2) Rename the legacy key type. You can't have two key types with the same
name, and (1) would otherwise require that.
(3) complete_request_key() must be called in the error path of
nfs_idmap_legacy_upcall().
(4) There is one idmap struct for each nfs_client struct. This means that
idmap->idmap_key_cons is shared without the use of a lock. This is a
problem because key_instantiate_and_link() - as called indirectly by
idmap_pipe_downcall() - releases anyone waiting for the key to be
instantiated.
What happens is that idmap_pipe_downcall() running in the rpc.idmapd
thread, releases the NFS filesystem in whatever thread that is running in
to continue. This may then make another idmapper call, overwriting
idmap_key_cons before idmap_pipe_downcall() gets the chance to call
complete_request_key().
I *think* that reading idmap_key_cons only once, before
key_instantiate_and_link() is called, and then caching the result in a
variable is sufficient.

rpciod is trying to allocate memory for a new socket to talk to the
server. The VM ends up calling ->releasepage to get more memory, and it
tries to do a blocking commit. That commit can't succeed however without
a connected socket, so we deadlock.
Fix this by setting PF_FSTRANS on the workqueue task prior to doing the
socket allocation, and having nfs_release_page check for that flag when
deciding whether to do a commit call. Also, set PF_FSTRANS
unconditionally in rpc_async_schedule since that function can also do
allocations sometimes.

rpc_make_runnable is not generally called with the queue lock held, unless
it's waking up a task that has been sitting on a waitqueue. This is safe
when the task has not entered the FSM yet, but the comments don't really
spell this out.

Current block layout driver read/write code assumes page
aligned IO in many places. Add a checker to validate the assumption.
Otherwise there would be data corruption like when application does
open(O_WRONLY) and page unaliged write.

When a device is unregistered, we have to purge all of the
references to it that may exist in the entire system.
If a route is uncached, we currently have no way of accomplishing
this.
So create a global list that is scanned when a network device goes
down. This mirrors the logic in net/core/dst.c's dst_ifdown().

Input path is mostly run under RCU and doesnt touch dst refcnt
But output path on forwarding or UDP workloads hits
badly dst refcount, and we have lot of false sharing, for example
in ipv4_mtu() when reading rt->rt_pmtu
Using a percpu cache for nh_rth_output gives a nice performance
increase at a small cost.
24 udpflood test on my 24 cpu machine (dummy0 output device)
(each process sends 1.000.000 udp frames, 24 processes are started)
before : 5.24 s
after : 2.06 s
For reference, time on linux-3.5 : 6.60 s

commit 404e0a8b6a55 (net: ipv4: fix RCU races on dst refcounts) tried
to solve a race but added a problem at device/fib dismantle time :
We really want to call dst_free() as soon as possible, even if sockets
still have dst in their cache.
dst_release() calls in free_fib_info_rcu() are not welcomed.
Root of the problem was that now we also cache output routes (in
nh_rth_output), we must use call_rcu() instead of call_rcu_bh() in
rt_free(), because output route lookups are done in process context.
Based on feedback and initial patch from David Miller (adding another
call_rcu_bh() call in fib, but it appears it was not the right fix)
I left the inet_sk_rx_dst_set() helper and added __rcu attributes
to nh_rth_output and nh_rth_input to better document what is going on in
this code.

added various fatal races with dst refcounts.
crashes happen on tcp workloads if routes are added/deleted at the same
time.
The dst_free() calls from free_fib_info_rcu() are clearly racy.
We need instead regular dst refcounting (dst_release()) and make
sure dst_release() is aware of RCU grace periods :
Add DST_RCU_FREE flag so that dst_release() respects an RCU grace period
before dst destruction for cached dst
Introduce a new inet_sk_rx_dst_set() helper, using atomic_inc_not_zero()
to make sure we dont increase a zero refcount (On a dst currently
waiting an rcu grace period before destruction)
rt_cache_route() must take a reference on the new cached route, and
release it if was not able to install it.
With this patch, my machines survive various benchmarks.

early_demux() handlers should be called in RCU context, and as we
use skb_dst_set_noref(skb, dst), caller must not exit from RCU context
before dst use (skb_dst(skb)) or release (skb_drop(dst))
Therefore, rcu_read_lock()/rcu_read_unlock() pairs around
->early_demux() are confusing and not needed :
Protocol handlers are already in an RCU read lock section.
(__netif_receive_skb() does the rcu_read_lock() )

After Power-on-reset, the 5719's TX DMA length registers may contain
uninitialized values and cause TX DMA to stall. Check for invalid
values and set a register bit to flush the TX channels. The bit
needs to be turned off after the DMA channels have been flushed.
